Voice
Processing Message Storage Space: Originally Voice Processing
Systems were based on an external PC with special voice cards
(such as those by Diologic or Rhetorix) and soon featured 100
hours of recording time when hard disks became 4 gig or bigger.
They were connected to your telephone system via analogue extension
ports and were said to be Integrated Voice Processing Systems.
However some of the leading Phone System manufacturers (such
as Avaya, Lucent & Samsung) now produce Voice Processing
Systems as an integral card within the system.
These Integral Voice Processing Systems are effectively a
PC on a card with proper hard drives supporting 100+ hours
of storage time. The benefit of an integral card is much improved
integration and user friendlyness a common maintainer and
lower price. Capacity for 100+ voice mail boxes is not uncommon.
